During your consultation with Dr. Fealy, you will be given information which will help you make the best implant choice to meet your needs and expectations. A variety of implant options are available. Dr. Fealy offers patients a choice of saline or silicone implants. Implant selection also includes the choice of shell, (smooth or textured surface), the size, the shape and the projection of your implants.
Implants come with low, medium or high projection, which determines how far forward your breasts will be after surgery. Implant shape options include round, anatomic, and teardrop.
Dr. Fealy specializes in using two types of incisions to start the breast augmentation procedure. In both cases, resulting scars are hardly noticeable because they are so well hidden. One site is where the bottom of the breast meets the chest wall, or ‘infra-mammary’, where a small incision will be made, hidden by the crease of your own breast. The other incision is through the areola, or ‘peri-areolar’, which is in the pigmented area of skin surrounding the nipple. Implants may be placed over or under your chest muscles. Dr. Fealy will advise you on which incision and which implant location best suits your anatomy, skin type and other factors. Post-operative recovery can be made very comfortable with the use of a temporary ‘pain pump’ in addition to standard pain medications.

Many natural conditions can cause the breasts to droop. For instance:
These conditions can result in loss of volume and support of the breasts’ internal structure and stretching of the skin beyond its ability to rebound.
Mastopexy, or Breast Lift, is the surgical procedure of lifting sagging breasts to create a more attractive, youthful appearance of the breast. This procedure can be done as a single procedure or in combination with breast implants.
Dr. Fealy uses one of three types of incisions for a breast lift, depending upon the amount of skin to be removed and the distance the nipple will be moved upward. The incisions do leave some scars. However, every effort is made to minimize the visible scars. Dr. Fealy will discuss with you the types and the locations of incisions and the size of any resulting scars.
Scars fade in six to nine months and are not a concern for most patients. Patients are happy with the new shape, higher position and “perkiness” of their breasts after surgery.

Many women suffer from breasts that are far too large and heavy. In some cases, the bra straps dig a groove into the woman’s shoulders from the weight of her breasts.
Overly large breasts can cause back pain and other health problems. The procedure to reduce such large breasts is known as reduction mammaplasty and removes fat, breast tissue and skin to make the breasts smaller, firmer and more attractive.
Usually, the procedure is only done on fully developed breasts. If you intend to breastfeed again, you may want to delay the operation.
In cases where breast reduction provides relief from physical ailments, medical insurance may come into play. Please check with your insurance carrier.
After healing, breast reduction patients are delighted to find they can again:
