Q. What does “board certification” mean?
A. A plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery has completed an accredited Plastic Surgery residency training program, passed a comprehensive written examination and then passed a rigorous oral examination. This is a lengthy, involved process achieved by only a limited number of surgeons. It is important to distinguish surgeons of various specialties performing cosmetic procedures from plastic surgeons. Dr. Fealy holds board certification in plastic surgery, and in hand surgery.
Q. How much do you charge for an initial consultation?
A.The nominal consultation fee is waived for patients who are seriously considering a cosmetic procedure and then schedule surgery. We deduct the consultation fee from the cost of the procedure. Because of the added time and complexity, patients seeking information about multiple procedures and options may require more than one office visit.
Q. What type of staff does the Simi Valley Center for Plastic Surgery have?
A.Our office manager greets new patients and welcomes them to the office. She can answer most questions patients have, and will provide patient information brochures about specific procedures. Our manager coordinates the details of your cosmetic procedure, ensuring that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Traci Campbell and Hannah Nicelsen are our office assistants and patient schedulers. They are an integral part of our front office team and will assist you with appointment scheduling, answer questions you may have, and provide you with any additional information you may need.
Peri Fealy, MSN, NP received her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco and is our patient education specialist. Peri performs pre-operative assessments and will answer all questions patients may have about their surgery, ensuring that patients are well informed and comfortable when they consent to surgery. Peri also performs initial consultations with patients interested in injectable cosmetic treatments (Botox, Restylane), cosmetic facial products, and anti-aging skin therapies.
Q. Where do the actual surgical procedures take place?
A.Dr. Fealy performs surgery at several accredited outpatient surgical centers, an arrangement which provides patients the option of choosing a convenient location for their procedures. One surgery center is located in the same building as our Simi Valley office. The doctor also performs surgery at surgery centers in Thousand Oaks, California. These facilities are certified to the highest possible standards of safety and patient comfort by the Joint Accreditation Commission on Health Organizations (JACHO.) Founded in 1951, JCAHO is the oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in American health care. These facilities also have been examined and accredited by the other leading organization for certifying American surgery centers, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. (AAAASF.)
All cosmetic surgical procedures are performed with a board certified anesthesiologist who will administer general anesthesia or sedation depending upon the complexity of the operation.

Dear Dr. Fealy,
I always wondered if I could really go thru with the plastic surgery that I always dreamed of. I had been to other plastic surgeons for consultations and never felt comfortable. As soon as I met you and your staff I instantly felt calm. And that made it so easy to go thru with the tummy tuck and breast augmentation that I really needed and wanted after having twins.
Sincerely,
L.W.
Dr. Fealy and staff were extremely kind and compassionate to work with. Dr. Fealy took the time to sit down and answer any questions I had as well as offer his professional opinion on my individual circumstances. I am very happy with my results.
Sincerely,
S.S.
